Evening Meetings, 7.00pm for 7.30pm, are normally held in the main hall of the Community Centre,Sheepsetting Lane, Heathfield,TN21 0XG on the third Monday of each month. Visitors are always welcome and pay £3, including refreshments.

Members only pay £1.50, including refreshments. We usually hold seven illustrated talks a year, two social evenings (July and December) and a Gardeners' Forum in May. The June meeting is usually an evening visit to a local garden or nursery. We do not hold a meeting in August.

Competition

A trophy is awarded to the member who accumulates the highest number of points in floral competitions at the 10 indoor meetings in the Community Centre each year. We hold two competitions each month. The first competition always asks for a specimen bloom(s) on a single stem while the other competition differs monthly.

February:  bowl of spring bulbs
March:  spring arrangement
April:  vase of polyanthus
May:  vase of mixed spring flowers
July:  bowl of roses
September: vase of dahlias
October: hedgerow arrangement
November:  cactus or succulent
December:  Christmas arrangement

Sales Stall

The Society provides a stall at evening meetings to sell members' surplus plants, produce, gardens sundries, second hand books and magazines, etc. all in aid of Society funds.

 

Raffle

We also hold a raffle at each evening meeting in aid of Society funds.
